Professor Oh Chu-yun from San Diego State University in California, United States says that dance groups like BTS’, NewJeans’ and other girl and boy bands’ dance moves can enhance ‘understanding of the humanities and arts’.
K-pop dance will reach new academic heights in 2023 when a university outside Korea starts teaching a general education course on the subject. Professor Oh, who will teach the course this autumn at SDSU, says this is proof of K-pop’s influence.
